The CHS Facility in Brandon, SD is seeking an Operations Specialist to operate equipment, load and unload trucks and railcars, perform basic cleaning tasks, and assist with training new employees. As an Operations Specialist, you will gain exposure to our customer base.An ideal candidate will have experience in a production or warehouse setting, operating a forklift, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with a team.This is a great opportunity to work with the largest co-op in the U.S. while making a difference in local communities. • Carry out general labor tasks promptly and efficiently under supervision.
• Develop and maintain knowledge of handled commodities and adhere to company policies and government regulations.
• Work courteously and professionally with customers.
• Prepare trucks and railcars for loading/unloading, which may involve various tasks like sampling and attaching hoses.
• Load and unload agricultural inputs from railcars and trucks using machinery.
• Control and oversee load out operations.
• Operate scale/dump systems and perform daily maintenance tasks.
• Maintain quality of inventory, perform housekeeping duties, and conduct grounds maintenance.
• Report complaints, maintenance needs, or safety concerns promptly to supervisor.
• Promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies and procedures.
• Follow company policies and procedures and provide excellent customer service.Minimum Qualifications
  • Meet minimum age requirement.
  • 1+ years of experience in Operations and/or Business Operations.Additional Qualifications
    • Operate machinery like loaders, conveyors, tractors, and track mobile.
    • Work extended hours during peak seasons.
    • High School diploma or GED preferred.
    • Agriculture experience preferred.
    • Forklift certification preferred.
